Chapter Meeting & Conflict Management Training

Chapter Meeting & "Conflict Management" Training Included: 1 PDU (Leadership) via Remote Training. The link will be sent to everyone who registers. We will begin with a 30 minute Chapter update, following by an hour of training on the topic of "Conflict Management". We will then have an open floor period for anyone to ask questions or provide feedback on Chapter business. Conflict is inevitable on projects, whether it's for resources, deliverable due dates, personality conflicts, changes in direction, and any number of other reasons. Knowing how to manage conflict is an essential skill for anyone in a leadership role and those who work as part of a team responsible with multiple priorities. During this presentation, we will review some techniques for working through conflict and how to turn conflict into something that helps spur progress. We will also put some of these ideas into practice with some hands on exercises. Here are some highlights of the topics we will cover: 1. Encouraging, and properly managing, conflict to create progress 2. Clarifying disagreements 3. Establishing common goals 4. Discussing ways to meet common goals 5. Determining barriers to agreement 6. Agreeing on the best way to resolve a conflict 7. Recapping the agreement, roles and responsibilities, and next steps

Military Outreach Group

PMI Midlands Chapter is looking to start a military outreach group IOT share expriences transition in to the civlian life and becoming a PMP. Please register if you are interested.

PMP/CAPM Training (PMBOK 6TH ED) (2)

PMI has extended access to the current PMP exam until 31 December 2020 and launched online proctored testing (OPT) for the PMP so candidates can now take the exam online from the convenience of their home or office. PMI South Carolina Midlands Chapter will conduct an 10 week PMP/CAPM training over the PMBOK 6th edition material, starting May 26, 2020. The training will be taught virtually using Zoom. The training is currently schedule for one night a week, Tuesdays from 630pm to 830pm, but may increase depending on class needs. The minimum number of participants the Midlands Chapter requires to conduct the training is 5. Participants will be provided a copy of Rita's Mulcahy's PMP Exam Prep 9th edition book, note cards and access to Rita's Mulcahy's PM FASTRACK Exam Simulator Version 9 as part of their fee.
