VOLUNTEER today! VOLUNTEERS ARE PMI-MIDLAND’S GREATEST ASSET! Serving on a committee or service group is one of the best ways to become involved and make an impact in the Project Management Institute. Volunteers play a very important role by providing thoughtful input to deliberations while working toward accomplishing our goals. Volunteering provides you an opportunity to share your expertise, network with colleagues and enhance your Curriculum Vitae (CV). Current members are seriously encouraged to find out more about contributing their time and skills to a committee or service group that suits their interests and experience. PMI as an organization could not be such a success without our great, dedicated volunteers. We are hoping to translate that success locally and we are counting on you to make this happen. If you would like to become more engaged, PMI-Midlands invites you to volunteer to serve on one or more of the following 2019/2020 Committees or Service groups. For more information about these Committees/Service Groups, please “Download a Detailed Volunteer Fact Sheet” Event Planning Network: Responsible for planning & executing most chapter events. Talent Network (Resource engagement & optimization): Responsible for identifying, booking, and managing speakers, panelists and presenters. Resource Fellows Network: Comprises individuals willing to volunteer as event Speakers, Presenters or Panelists or otherwise persons who have good contacts and are willing to recommend or connect us to great resources (i.e. Speakers, Presenters, Panelists etc.) that can fill available speaking or presentation slots. For more information about volunteering to speak at our events or serving as one of our PMP Certification Instructors, please “Download the Fact Sheet on Volunteers Speakers” Three (3) Ways to indicate your Interest: [1] Simply fill out this “Google Form” by clicking HERE [2] Sign-up for this "EVENT" below or [3] Contact the V.P Professional Development at development@pmi-midlands.org The 2019 PMI-Midlands Call for Volunteers closes Tuesday, July 9, 2019. SELF-AWARENESS & THE ART OF BEING ATTUNED TO YOURSELF: The nexus between self-awareness and great leadership Society’s idea of great leaders are people that are self-assured and confident, and never second guess themselves. But the truth is that most outstanding leaders understand their blind spots and weaknesses and learn over time how to mitigate these issues. They clearly know they do not have all the answers and therefore know when to lean on others. Self-awareness is therefore a critical characteristic of great leaders. In this workshop we discuss the nexus between self-awareness and great leadership and explore the development and implementation of 360 degrees feedback for busy project management professionals. Speaker: Mr. Nathan Strong, Facilitator, Executive Coach, Consultant and Director for Organizational & Professional Development at the University of South Carolina, Columbia.Has over 35 years’ experience in organizational assessment and organizational development activities.
